“We will, all of us, only be happy, she thinks, when we don’t need one another any more. When we can live a life of our own, a life that belongs to us, that has nothing to do with anyone else. When we are free.”
“The baby is dead, It took only a few seconds.” What an opening.
Based a true story of a nanny murdering two young children in Brooklyn this is a very intense read. I am so glad I picked up The Perfect Nanny, it is so much more than a thriller. The vibe is so unsettling in a great way, and the writing is fantastic.
